Hey everybody! I know it's been a while, but I've been super busy during this incredible summer that I've been through. I've got some great topics to cover this fall, and you can expect a lot of posts during football season. Please let me know if there are any specific teams or topics of the upcoming season you want me to give my thoughts on. Also, if any of you readers know others who might like this blog, please spread the word! I would love this to turn into a very big thing and it all starts with my core readers! I appreciate all the support my friends and family have given me so far and I know that I can make this a really great blog. Get ready people, football season is nearly upon us! Have a fun and safe end to your summers, and always remember....

Since the new playoff system is set up, how many more teams should be added on here to make playoff even bigger? I think an eight-team playoff is the logical next step. This seems to make some sense, seeing that there are five “power conferences.”
ReplyDeleteBig 12 is the only Power 5 conference that does not contain a championship game to decided who will win the conference. If there are two teams who has the same record, then both of the schools would "share" the title. Wouldn't it be beneficial for the Big 12 to have a championship game?
Notre Dame and BYU are prestigious schools who are not in a conference. Should they join a conference considering teams on every conference are limiting their games against independent schools?
Ohio State former quarterback, Braxton Miller, is now shifting into a wide receiver which is understandable but what do you think of this idea? Does it make sense?
Are college football's Transfer Rules fair to players? This is an interesting topic because a college football coach can leave as long as his new school is willing to pay any necessary buy-out fee. There is no one-year grace period and no rule preventing him from leaving for a state or conference rival. When a college football player wants to transfer, he will most definitely sit out a year. I think transfer players should get a little more freedom than that. At the very least, transferring players who appeal for immediate eligibility should be granted a decision before camp opens.
ReplyDeleteOne of the main topics that people still talk about today is: Should student athletes be paid? I believe they shouldn't because student-athletes have so many free things like free education, free meal, free clothes and free books. This has always been issue for student-athletes but what do you think of the idea?
Which QB should start for Ohio State. You have to admit, both Barett and Cardale Jones are fantastic QB but only one will get the job. Who do you think should start and why should that person start?
Let's talk about the Nebraska. Since our first string running, wide receiver and defense end are gone, do you think they will be able to fill up that hole? For the quarterback, it look Tommy Armstrong will continue on with his job but they are some doubters who thinks he shouldn't be the QB for Nebraska due to how he played on big games last year. Last thing for Nebraska is: coach Riley. I like him, he is fantastic recruiter. However, he struggles during games. His last school to coach was Oregon State but it was difficult for him to win games. That isn't surprising because the Pac-12 is loaded with talented teams like USC, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Utah and not to mention Oregon State's state rivalry Oregon. Do you think his coaching skills will bring Nebraska back to the old days?
Heisman watch: I'm not a big fan of talking about who will win the Heisman title at the end of the season because the season hasn't started yet but do you have an idea who will win it this year? The number one person on this is Heisman watch is Ohio State's running back Ezelial Elliot. A rapper even made a song about him! I'll admit he's great but the teams he will be playing will watch him carefully because they've seen what he can do. I also think the teams they'll play this year have better defense than last year. I'm not sure who will win it because the season hasn't started yet so I usually wait until after week 5 to decide who I think will it. Why? Because during week 5, things starts to get complicated and conference games starts to pick up. You remember Kenny Trill right? Well, he was on that Heisman watch last year but somewhere in week 4 or 5, he started playing terrible that he dropped out of the race and he lost his job as the starting QB. He transferred to TCU. It will be interesting to watch who will come out on top. I think I'm out of ideas haha. I just can't wait for the season to starts!
Thanks for all the topic ideas John! I'll do my best to cover them all!
