Big Time Back

Hey everyone, big news for Husker Nation yesterday when RB Jordan Stevenson out of Dallas, Texas, signed with Nebraska and will play football for the Huskers starting this fall. Stevenson is a big addition to our 2015 class and will be a sure-fire weapon in Coach Riley's offense. Originally committed to Wisconsin, Stevenson was unable to qualify academically and was denied admission. From what I've read, it wasn't much, but either way, that opened up his recruiting again. Since he's part of the 2015 class, he's still eligible to play this fall. Coach Riley and his crew went after Jordan exceptionally hard this past week, and their efforts paid off yesterday when he signed with the Huskers. Not only was it great to sign a 4 star RB, but even better knowing that we just swiped him from Conference Rival Wisconsin. I've watched Stevenson's highlight film and I have to say, he runs a lot like the freshly departed Ameer Abdullah. Obviously Ameer is a 1 in a million type of player, but I think Stevenson is going to be the real deal. He arrives on campus sometime today and will start right away so he can possibly compete for the starting job at running back. Obviously we have a little experience coming back there, but nothing to decide a clear cut winner. I predict that Coach Riley and his staff will use a good mix of our depth at running back, but I don't see any reason why a true freshman can't come in and try to compete.
Stevenson was a big time signing for Coach Riley and his staff. Definitely a statement to the nation that the Huskers can still compete with anyone and everyone on the recruiting field. I'm very excited to watch this kid and I hope he can make an impact soon. September 5th can't come soon enough! Just over a month left and College Football will be back!
A quick note I'd like to announce is that earlier this week, my boss at UNL for my tour guiding job emailed me saying that they would like to offer me an interview to possibly become a Tour Guide for football recruits! So, once I return to Campus, I'll have my interview, and if all goes as planned, you'll hear about some crazy kid building National Championship caliber teams! Hahaha, so keep you're eye out, and always remember, GO BIG RED!
